What to finish before midnight tomorrow
The Consortium has not announced an extension, and the last date has stayed at 31 October since applications opened on 3 August 2026. Do not plan around an extension. Fill in the form, upload documents and pay the fee well before the evening of 31 October, because payment gateways slow down on deadline day.
Check your test centre before you submit. The Consortium has removed Vellore and Tiruvarur from the list of CLAT 2027 test cities. A candidate who had chosen either city must change the preference by 31 October.
Two NLUs have also changed their reservation categories this year: WBNUJS Kolkata now has a single OBC category, and NLU Meghalaya has added categories. If you applied under the older categories at either university, update them by the same date.
What happens after the deadline
An application correction window is expected to open after registration closes. Education portals report that it may start around 2 November, but the Consortium has not confirmed the dates or the list of editable fields, so wait for the official notice. NLU preferences are normally filled in later, at counselling registration, and not in the application form.
The syllabus and pattern for CLAT 2027 are unchanged. The expert committee's proposed reforms are meant for CLAT 2028 and later, according to reports on the committee's findings.
AILET and SLAT: still open
AILET is run by NLU Delhi and is not covered by a CLAT application. Its portal showed 10 November 2026 as the last date, 30 November for admit cards and 13 December for the exam when we last read it on 14 October 2026. SLAT 2027 for Symbiosis law schools is on 19 and 26 December 2026.
Verification note: on 30 October the Consortium and NLU Delhi pages did not show readable date panels in our check, so the CLAT deadline rests on the Consortium page as read on 14 October 2026 and on a Careers360 report of 27 October that confirms 31 October 11:59 pm and no extension. The AILET and SLAT dates are as read from their official sites on 14 October 2026. Confirm on the official portals before you pay.
