CAT 2026 admit card: what changed
Reports from Shiksha, Careers360 and Career Launcher on 4 November say IIM Indore has postponed the CAT 2026 admit card from 4 November to 6 November 2026, and that it will be posted on the official CAT website. Career Launcher's page quotes the notice as saying the card "will now be released on 6th November 2026". None of these reports gives a reason, and the exam date has not changed.
Please note that we could not open iimcat.ac.in from our systems today, so we have not read the notice ourselves. Some of the live-update pages we checked still carried older 4 November lines, so treat 6 November as the date to confirm on the official portal before you plan anything around it.
The earlier schedule listed three CAT sessions on 29 November: 8:30 to 10:30 am, 12:30 to 2:30 pm and 4:30 to 6:30 pm. Your slot, test centre and reporting time will be on your admit card, not before.
Other MBA entrance dates this month
SNAP 2026: Registration and payment close on 25 November 2026. Admit cards go live on 7 December (SNAP 01), 11 December (SNAP 02) and 18 December (SNAP 03), for tests on 13, 19 and 26 December. The result is due on 12 January 2027. The fee is Rs 2,550 per attempt plus Rs 1,000 per programme, with up to three attempts allowed and the best score counted, according to snaptest.org.
XAT 2027: Registration closes on 6 December 2026, the admit card is tentatively available from 20 December, and the exam is on 3 January 2027 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm, as per xatonline.in. The XAT site also warns against fake admission offers and says XLRI admissions are on merit only, with no management or NRI quota.
NMAT by GMAC 2026: The GMAC NMAT page shows 25 October 2026 as the last date for both registration and scheduling, with the test window running from 2 November to 20 December 2026. If you already hold a slot, check your confirmation email for your date.
What it means for students
If you are appearing in CAT 2026, nothing changes in your preparation plan. The 2-day delay only affects when you can see your centre and slot, so keep 29 November free for the whole day until the card tells you which session you have. Download the card on the day it appears, check the name, photo and ID details, and report any mismatch to the CAT helpdesk listed on the portal.
If you are still choosing exams, SNAP (25 November) and XAT (6 December) are the two registrations still open from this list. Read each exam's own page for fees and eligibility, and compare institutes on our CAT and MBA blog.
