What UPSC has announced

PW Live and FirstJob24 both report that the result of the Civil Services (Main) Examination 2026 came out on 5 November 2026 and that 2,526 candidates have qualified for the interview stage. Vajiram & Ravi also dates the result to 5 November but gives no count. We could not open upsc.gov.in's notice pages from our systems today, so the numbers above come from these reports quoting the notice; confirm your own roll number on the official PDF.

The Personality Test will be held at UPSC's office at Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi, according to PW Live. Interview dates, board allocation and the e-summon letter had not been published when we checked, and UPSC normally issues them after the DAF-II window closes.

DAF-II: what qualified candidates must do

Qualified candidates must fill in the Detailed Application Form-II on upsconline.nic.in between 11 and 25 November 2026, closing at 6:00 pm on the last day. Candidates who showed their degree as "appearing" at the Prelims stage must upload proof of passing. Candidates must also submit the attestation form on the DoP&T portal, cseplus.dopt.gov.in, around the time of their interviews, as per PW Live.

Do not leave DAF-II for the last evening. The portal is busiest near the deadline, and a missed upload can be costly at this stage.

What it means for students

If your roll number is on the list, the next two weeks are about paperwork, then interview preparation: your DAF-II is the document the board will question you from, so every hobby, service preference and cadre choice in it must be something you can discuss. If you did not qualify, the Mains answer-copy feedback process and your own marks sheet will come after the final result, so use the time to plan UPSC CSE 2027 around the next notification.
