What's actually confirmed

MCC published the Final Result of Round 2 of UG Counselling 2026 on 12 September 2026, and its portal shows reporting for Round 2 as now underway. Candidates allotted a seat in this round must report to their respective college between 12 and 18 September 2026 to confirm admission. Separately, on 9 September MCC published a list of 135 candidates provisionally converted from Indian to NRI status for Round 2, and on 5 September it added 30 new MBBS/BDS seats to Round 2 across three colleges in Karnataka and Bihar.

A separate window: Round-1 'float' candidates can now resign

In a notice dated 13 September 2026 (Notice No. 22), MCC opened a resignation/seat-withdrawal facility specifically for Round-1 'float' candidates — those who joined a Round-1 seat, retained it because they did not get upgraded in Round 2, but now want to withdraw. These candidates can resign online from 2:00 PM on 13 September through 6:00 PM on 15 September 2026 without forfeiting their security deposit. MCC has been explicit that any resignation submitted after that window will carry forfeiture of the deposit, and that a resignation is only valid once the Seat Withdrawal slip is generated online through MCC's portal — an unfinished or offline resignation is treated as 'Null & Void.'

What this means for candidates

Two separate clocks are running at once. Anyone allotted a fresh seat in Round 2 needs to complete reporting by 18 September or risk losing it. Anyone who is a Round-1 float candidate weighing whether to walk away from that seat has a much tighter deadline — 6:00 PM on 15 September — to do so without financial penalty; after that, resigning still cancels the seat but keeps the forfeiture. Candidates in either category should log into their MCC account directly rather than relying on second-hand summaries, since document and slip-generation requirements are exact and non-negotiable per MCC's own notice.
