What UPSC announced

The written result is out on the UPSC website under "Written Results", in the form of a press note listing the roll numbers of candidates who qualified. This is only the first stage of selection. The final merit list is prepared after the SSB interview, and it is on that merit list that candidates get a place in the training academies.

What it means for students

If your roll number is on the list, check the UPSC press note and the instructions on the joinindianarmy.nic.in and Indian Navy and Air Force recruitment portals for your SSB call-up. Do not wait for a letter alone; the SSB centre and reporting date are normally shown on the recruiting body's portal once allotted. Candidates who did not qualify have no re-evaluation route in this cycle, so the next opportunity is the next CDS notification.

We could not open the full text of the press note while preparing this update, so we have kept this article to the dates and stages that UPSC lists publicly. For the number of qualified candidates and exact SSB instructions, read the press note itself.
