Tally Course Fees in India: ₹1,200 to ₹11,800 for Tally with GST

Eight published prices for Tally with GST courses ran from ₹1,200 to ₹11,800 in October 2026. The median was ₹4,624 and the mean ₹5,060. The four lowest were ₹1,200 to ₹4,248, and the four highest were ₹5,000 to ₹11,800.

How we counted: in October 2026 we took each price from the provider's own course or fee page. We included only entry-level to intermediate TallyPrime with GST courses, so the Delhi institute's two-month Advanced course (₹10,000) is outside the sample. We added 18% GST where the provider lists it as extra and otherwise used the quoted price. We treated the Baguiati centre's ₹5,900 as all-in, and the centre asks you to call for the exact fee. The median is the average of the fourth and fifth lowest all-in prices (₹4,248 and ₹5,000). The mean is ₹40,480 ÷ 8. This is our sample of eight, not a market survey, and it does not include Online Coaching 4u. Prices change, so confirm each one on the provider's page.

The four lowest prices come from SWAYAM Plus, Tally Education (two courses) and one independent institute, Softcom Computer Institute. All four highest come from training centres or institutes.

Because a listed fee can exclude 18% GST, and some providers fold the exam and certificate into the fee while others charge them separately. As of October 2026, Tally Education lists TallyPrime with GST at ₹2,400 plus 18% GST, which is ₹2,832. Its GST Filing with TallyPrime course is ₹4,725 plus GST, which is ₹5,575.50.

The working is simple: all-in fee = listed fee × 1.18 when the price is shown as "+ GST".

Exams and certificates vary by provider:

• SWAYAM Plus includes the assessment fee in its ₹1,200.
• MKCL's fee page says its total covers course, examination and certification fees.
• Great Learning's free TallyPrime course charges a non-refundable fee if you want the completion certificate.

Our advice is to ignore any crossed-out "original" price and compare only the final amount you would pay, in writing.

Because the route to a course can add fees. SWAYAM Plus (the Ministry of Education's online learning platform, run through the Indian Institute of Technology Madras) lists a 120-hour TallyPrime with GST course from MKCL (Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation Limited) at ₹1,200. MKCL's fee page lists a ₹1,000 MKCL share plus a ₹5,000 service charge from an authorised learning centre, ₹6,000 in total. That fee applies from 1 July 2025 all over Maharashtra. Adding the optional marksheet from YCMOU (Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University) makes MKCL's share ₹1,118 and the total ₹6,118.

It is our inference that the two listings teach the same MKCL syllabus, since both are 120 hours from MKCL. On that reading, the Maharashtra centre route costs five times the platform route (₹6,000 ÷ ₹1,200).

The same pattern shows up elsewhere. Tally Education sells its 35-hour TallyPrime with GST Fundamentals for ₹4,248 all-in. The Baguiati centre lists a 35-hour self-paced online TallyPrime with GST at ₹5,900, which is ₹1,652 or 39% more (₹1,652 ÷ ₹4,248). Matching the two on title and length is our inference.

A centre can be worth the extra when you want a trainer beside you and a computer lab. It is not worth it when the extra is only the route. Ask what the difference buys, and ask which route the quote assumes.

Divide the all-in fee by the hours of teaching you get. For the six courses in our sample that state hours, that gave ₹10 an hour for SWAYAM Plus up to about ₹515 an hour for Tally Education's 5.5-hour course. A very short course is cheap in fees but expensive per hour.

The model is ours:

All-in fee = listed fee × 1.18 (if shown + GST) + exam fee + certificate fee
             + materials, lab or registration fee + EMI interest
All-in price per hour = All-in fee ÷ hours of teaching

EMI is an equated monthly instalment, the repayment plan some centres offer. The calculation measures price, not quality. SWAYAM Plus's 120 hours are 60 of theory and 60 of practice, and other providers split their hours differently. Use the figure to ask better questions, not to pick the cheapest.

Ask seven things and get each answer in writing: the GST position, exam and certificate costs, the certificate issuer, the Tally version, practical hours, refund terms and what placement assistance includes. A provider that answers all seven plainly passes. One that dodges any of them has told you something.

1. GST. Pass: the quote gives an all-in amount or "+ 18% GST" you can add. Fail: one number with no tax wording and no confirmation.
2. Exam and certificate. Pass: they are included or each has an amount. Fail: "extra at the end" with no figure.
3. Certificate issuer. Pass: Tally Education issues it and it verifies online, or the provider says plainly that it is its own completion certificate. Fail: "Tally certificate" with no issuer named.
4. Version. Pass: the syllabus names TallyPrime. Fail: it names only Tally.ERP 9, the older version that TallyPrime replaced, and you wanted the current one.
5. Practical hours. Pass: a number of hours on a computer, plus batch size. Fail: a duration in months only.
6. Refund terms. Pass: written terms before you pay. Fail: a spoken promise.
7. Placement assistance. Pass: a written description of what it includes. Fail: a placement claim with no description.

Only Tally Education's certificate is an official Tally certification; an institute's certificate shows course completion. You do not need to buy TallyPrime to learn, because its educational mode is free with a fixed transaction date.

Tally Education, a subsidiary of Tally Solutions, says it is the only entity authorised to issue certifications on computerised accounting with Tally, and its certificates can be verified on its website. Educational mode has no time limit.

A certificate from another body is that body's certificate. SWAYAM Plus and MKCL issue one for the 120-hour course. CSC (Common Service Centres) issues a digital verifiable certificate for its Tally.ERP 9 programme. Tally Education also advises checking that an institute is affiliated with it. Look at who runs a website: tallyprimeeducation.com, for example, is run by Softcom Computer Institute, an independent institute and not Tally Solutions.

Before paying extra for the official certificate, read five job advertisements you would apply to. See whether they name a certificate or only skills such as GST entries.

You need a paid licence only when you start keeping real books. As of October 2026, Tally Solutions lists TallyPrime Silver (single user) at ₹750 a month, ₹9,000 a year (₹8,100 with its 10% annual discount) or ₹22,500 for a lifetime licence, each plus 18% GST. With GST (× 1.18) that is ₹885 a month, ₹10,620 a year (₹9,558 at the discounted annual price) or ₹26,550 for the lifetime licence.

Choose by what you need to walk away with: a low-cost grounding, an official certificate, or a trainer and lab in person. Prices below are as of October 2026.
