JEE Crash Course: Check Subjects, Last Class and Refund First
A JEE crash course is worth buying only if it covers the subjects you need, ends well before your exam and puts its refund terms in writing. Check these before fees.
Updated 5 Nov 2026

Key takeaways
- A JEE crash course is worth buying only if it names the subjects you need, ends at least ten days before your exam and states its refund terms in writing; compare fees last.
- Pick the course type from your own chapter list. A revision crash course suits you only if you have already studied nearly every chapter.
- Refund conditions range from "non-refundable" to a refund only if you reach a stated percentile, so get the clause in writing before paying.
- In the eight course pages we read on 5 November 2026, only one printed the fee, a last-class date, the subjects and the refund terms together.

A cheap JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) crash course and a complete one are often two different things. One well-known revision course teaches only Physics and Maths. A recorded course has no last class because it has no batch. A page that ranks today can still carry the dates of a batch that ran last year.
That is why comparing fees first goes wrong. The fee tells you what you pay, not what you get, how long you have to use it or what comes back if it does not suit you.
This page gives you the order we would check things in: your own syllabus position first, then the subjects, the last live class and the refund terms, and only then the fee. It then gives a quote sheet you can fill in for any course, and a way to shortlist institutes through our directory. Online Coaching 4u is a directory for comparing coaching institutes. We do not sell crash courses, and none of the courses compared here is ours.
Which JEE crash course type fits you: full-coverage or revision?
Choose a revision crash course only if you have already studied nearly every chapter. Choose a full-coverage crash course if a large share is still unstudied. A revision course assumes you know the chapters and trains recall and speed, so it cannot repair missing chapters in a few weeks.
To decide, list every chapter of Physics, Chemistry and Maths from the syllabus in the official information for JEE Main, the first stage for engineering admission (JEE Advanced is the second stage, for IIT entry), published by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Mark each one:
- A: you can solve a full chapter test without notes.
- B: you know it but need revision.
- C: you have not studied it, or cannot follow the solutions.

| Your chapter list | What fits | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Nearly all A or B, few C | Practice-heavy revision course with mock tests (full-length practice papers) | Your gap is recall and timed accuracy |
| About a third or more marked C, the rest solid | Full-coverage course that teaches chapters | Only worth it if its last class leaves time to revise |
| Most chapters marked C | A crash course will not do the job | Choose a longer course and aim for a later attempt |
The one-third line is our rule of thumb, not an official figure. If you are a dropper, a full-year batch may suit you better; our JEE dropper batch cost guide covers that route.
What do crash course pages actually print about fees and refunds?
Of the eight JEE crash course pages we read on 5 November 2026, four printed a fee, one a current last-class date, three refund terms and seven named subjects. We chose them from course pages that rank for, or are cited in answers to, the search "jee crash course" in India, keeping those whose text we could read. It is a sample of eight, not a market-wide finding. A dash in the table means the page text carried no such figure. A fee shown only behind a login or pop-up would not appear in our count.
| Course page | Fee | Last class date | Refund terms | Subjects named |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Yes | – | Yes | Yes | |
| Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | |
| – | – | – | – | |
| Yes | – | – | Yes | |
| – | – | – | Yes | |
| – | – | – | Yes | |
| – | Dated 2025 | – | Yes | |

Across the eight pages, four print a fee, one prints a current last-class date, three print refund terms and seven name their subjects. Only MathonGo prints all four. Vidyamandir's page gives a start in the first week of December.
Fees as printed on those pages on 5 November 2026:
- iQuanta: ₹1,499 for a self-paced recorded course.
- Competishun C³: ₹3,999.
- MathonGo: ₹4,990 for Physics and Maths only.
- AhaGuru: ₹15,000 per subject for six months of access, or ₹20,000 per subject for one year.
Our working for AhaGuru's three JEE subjects: 3 × ₹15,000 = ₹45,000 and 3 × ₹20,000 = ₹60,000. The top of that range is about 40 times iQuanta's fee (₹60,000 ÷ ₹1,499). These fees buy different things, so the spread says little about quality. It says the headline fee is the wrong first filter.
How many days should a crash course leave before JEE Main?
Subtract the last live class date from your exam date; that gap is the time you have for full papers with no new teaching. Our recommendation is at least ten days. As of 5 November 2026, NTA has scheduled JEE Main 2027 Session 1 for 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 28 January 2027 and Session 2 for 2 to 7 April 2027; confirm your own date on the NTA JEE Main site. Session 1 registration closes on 22 November 2026.
A worked example: MathonGo's page shows a course running 19 October 2026 to 8 January 2027, so the gap is 12 days to 20 January and 20 days to 28 January. Both pass our ten-day test. A course whose live classes run to the week before the exam would fail it.
Two things to question on the pages above:
- The Aakash Invictus page is titled for Session 1 yet shows a start in "January 2027" and a duration of "2 Months". Ask which exam session that batch is built for.
- The Narayana page shows a course dated 13 March to 14 May 2025 (62 days), although the same page states 77 days. Ask which is correct and whether a batch for your exam exists at all.
For recorded courses, the date that matters is when your access ends. A page that says "valid till JEE Advanced 2027", as Competishun's does, is a validity period, not a teaching schedule.

What should a written quote from a crash course provider contain?
Ask the provider to fill in six items in writing, and pay only when each passes. Each item below has a test you can run on the reply.
Which subjects does the course teach?
The pass is a written list naming Physics, Chemistry and Maths, or exactly which are excluded. MathonGo's page describes sessions for Physics and Maths. AhaGuru prices per subject, so a three-subject course costs three times the per-subject fee. A fail is "JEE crash course" with no subject list.
Does it teach chapters or only revise them?
The pass is a chapter-wise schedule with the number of live sessions per chapter. Competishun lists "75 lectures per subject"; MathonGo lists "50+ live sessions" for its two subjects; Unacademy's Champs 2.0 lists "135+ live classes". Compare against your A/B/C list from the first section. A fail is a course that cannot tell you which chapters it covers.
When is the last live class, and how many days does that leave?
The pass is a dated last class and a gap of ten days or more by the formula above. For recorded courses, the pass is a written access end date after your exam. A fail is "till the exam" without a date.
What exactly is refundable, and when?
The pass is a written refund clause with conditions, amount and date. Pages differ sharply:
- MathonGo says its fee is "non-refundable after purchase", with a scholarship for 99+ percentile in the January attempt.
- Competishun refunds only if you score 97+ percentile in JEE Main 2027 or finish within the top 25,000 on the Common Rank List (CRL) in JEE Advanced. It describes the refund as GST-less and pays it after the JEE Advanced results.
- AhaGuru allows a refund within 7 days of purchase, only if under 5% of the content has been watched.
A score-linked refund is not the same as a refund if the course does not suit you. Our guide to getting coaching refund terms in writing shows what to ask for.
What is the all-in fee including GST?
The pass is a single written total including GST (Goods and Services Tax). A fail is a fee quoted "plus taxes" with no total. Check what any discount is measured against: both Competishun and MathonGo print a struck-through list price beside the fee. Once the other five items pass, compare totals with our JEE coaching fees guide or the coaching fee comparison calculator.
How many full-length mocks are included, and at what cost?
The pass is a stated number of full-length mocks included in the fee. iQuanta's page lists 10 full-length mocks. Vidyamandir's lists 25 online practice tests and 5 real-time mocks. Narayana's dated page lists 14 grand tests. A fail is a mock series sold separately without the price.
How do you shortlist crash course institutes on Online Coaching 4u?
Use the IIT JEE filter in our directory, choose Online or Hybrid mode, tick "Verified only" and send an enquiry asking each institute for the quote sheet above. We list online, classroom and hybrid coaching institutes. We do not take payments, so fees, batches, faculty and refund terms are confirmed directly with the institute.
Our online coaching directory includes institutes such as Allen, Aakash, Resonance, PW Vidyapeeth and Motion. Ask each whether it runs a crash batch for your exam session, and get the six answers in writing. A Verified badge means the institute has shared its details with us and we have verified them. It does not guarantee results. Profiles also show ratings, reviews and a separate Google rating, so you can see where each rating comes from.
Browsing, comparing, enquiring and reviewing are free for students. For a broader method, see our 10 evidence checks for choosing a coaching institute. When you are ready, browse JEE coaching institutes in our online coaching directory.

Frequently asked questions
They do different jobs. A regular course teaches the syllabus over a year or more; a crash course compresses revision or fast coverage into weeks. Choose by your chapter list, not by the label. Our JEE dropper batch guide covers the full-year route.
