PW CAT Course Review: Settle These 10 Points Before Paying
A pw cat course review should start with terms: the access end date, what counts as a mock, the total fee and the refund wording. Get all four in writing before paying.
Updated 31 Oct 2026

Key takeaways
- Judge PW's CAT course on four written terms before you judge its teaching: the access end date, the number of full-length mocks, the total fee including tax, and the refund wording.
- PW's batch pages carry their own validity dates, and the dates differ between batches. A batch named for one year can end before an attempt in the next year.
- Divide the total you pay by the full-length mocks you can confirm in writing. That one number lets you compare PW with any other CAT option.
- Sit in on PW's free CAT batches before paying. Only then does a verdict on the teaching mean anything for you.

Reviews of Physics Wallah's Common Admission Test (CAT) course argue about teachers. The money question sits elsewhere. PW (Physics Wallah) sells its CAT preparation as many separate batches, each with its own page, its own access end date and its own refund line.
Two batch pages checked in October 2026 already gave different end dates. A buyer who has compared teachers but not terms can pay for access that ends before the exam they plan to sit.
CAT is the entrance exam for the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and many other business schools. PW sells its CAT courses under the name MBA Wallah. As of 31 October 2026, CAT 2026 is on 29 November 2026 (confirm on iimcat.ac.in), so a purchase today is in practice for the 2027 attempt or a last-month sprint for 2026. PW lists free CAT batches, such as CAT Fundamentals 2026 and CAT Free Test Series 2026, to try the teaching first. The sheet below gives you the ten points to settle before you pay. The sections after it explain why each one matters.
Is the PW CAT course worth buying before you check its terms?
No review can answer that for you, because the answer depends on which batch you buy and what its terms say. Forum replies swing between "It's not that good" and "Yap it is worth it" for the same course. That spread is what you should expect when the course is sold as many batches and read by learners at different levels.
Teaching quality is something you can test cheaply. As of October 2026, PW's CAT page lists free CAT batches, including a free test series. Sit through a Quant (quantitative aptitude) class, a VARC (verbal ability and reading comprehension) class and an LRDI (logical reasoning and data interpretation) class before paying. If one section does not work for you, you will know before you pay.
Terms are different. You cannot test them after you pay, so settle them first.
What should you write down before paying for a PW CAT batch?
Write down ten items, each with a clear pass or fail. Copy this table into a note and fill it from the batch page you are about to buy from, not from a review.
| # | Check | Pass | Fail |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Batch name and CAT year | The name at checkout matches the batch page and the year you will sit | The name carries a year earlier than your sitting |
| 2 | Access end date | A full date (day, month, year) on the page or invoice, after your CAT sitting and the interview season | No full date, or a date before your sitting |
| 3 | Recordings | Recorded classes stay available until that end date | Access stops when the live classes stop |
| 4 | Full-length mocks | A number of complete CAT-length papers, given in writing and counted apart from chapter and practice tests | One combined "tests" total |
| 5 | Test pass | You have confirmed in writing whether the mocks are inside the batch price | Mocks are sold as a separate pass you only discover later |
| 6 | Total payable | One rupee figure including GST (Goods and Services Tax) at checkout | A booking amount mistaken for the price |
| 7 | Instalments | Every due date and amount listed, plus what happens if you miss one | Dates without consequences |
| 8 | Refund and swap wording | Copied word for word from the page, with a dated screenshot | A phone promise with nothing in writing |
| 9 | Fee in writing | Dated screenshot of the price page, plus the invoice or email | A counsellor's quote you cannot reproduce |
| 10 | Free trial | You sat at least one class and one test from PW's free CAT batches first | You are paying on someone else's verdict |
Why does the access end date matter more than the batch name?
Because the end date decides how many months of the course you can actually use. PW's batch pages carry their own validity date, and the dates differ. As of 31 October 2026, PW's MBA Ignite 2026 page gives validity as 30 April 2027, while PW's MBA Elite 2026 page gives it as 31 March 2027 and says recordings are available until March 2027. Re-read both pages on the day you buy, since batches change.
As of 31 October 2026, CAT 2026 is on 29 November 2026 (confirm on iimcat.ac.in). A batch bought now with validity to March or April 2027 serves the 2026 results and interview season, not a 2027 attempt.
Our reasoning, which goes beyond what those pages say: CAT is a late-year exam, so a validity date in March or April 2027 comes before any CAT sitting in 2027. A batch with a 2026 name suits the 2026 exam and the results season after it. It does not suit a 2027 attempt.
The IIMs announce the exam date on the official CAT website. Check it, then pick a batch whose end date falls well after the sitting. If the date is earlier, ask in writing for an extension and treat the answer as a fee term.

What does PW mean by mock tests, and how many do you really get?
A mock is a full-length, timed practice paper in CAT format. PW's pages use several different words for tests: full-length mocks, practice tests, chapter-wise tests and a test pass. PW's test-series page sells a test pass as its own product, and the batch pages list tests inside the batch.
These are different things. A chapter test checks one topic. A full-length mock is the only one that rehearses the exam. Counts quoted on different pages can therefore describe different things, and a bigger number does not mean more mocks.
Ask support, in writing: "How many full-length mocks are included in this batch's price, and are any sold separately?" Keep the reply. Then do the sum below.

What do PW's CAT batches and test pass cost?
As of 31 October 2026, PW MBA Ignite 2026 costs ₹7,499 with validity to 30 April 2027; MBA Power Batch 2026 is ₹29,999 (₹9,999 booking plus two ₹10,000 instalments) with validity to 30 April 2027; the MBA Test Pass is ₹2,999 for 550+ mocks across 23 series, valid 12 months.
The Ignite page shows ₹7,499 as the price, cut from ₹14,999, and lists weekly practice tests plus full-length mocks. The Power page lists 145+ practice tests via MBA One Pass. The Test Pass's 550+ figure covers several MBA exams and is not a CAT-only count. Each figure is what the page showed on 31 October 2026, and PW can change them.
How do you work out the real cost per mock?
Divide the total you pay, including GST, by the full-length mocks you have confirmed in writing. This is our own formula, not an official figure. It makes a fee comparable across providers.
An illustration, not any provider's price: if you pay ₹9,000 including GST and confirm 15 full-length mocks, the cost is ₹9,000 ÷ 15 = ₹600 per mock. If only 6 are confirmed, the same fee works out to ₹9,000 ÷ 6 = ₹1,500 per mock.
On PW's own figures, the Test Pass works out to ₹2,999 ÷ the full-length CAT mocks you confirm in writing. Do not divide by 550, because that count spans several MBA exams. The same sum applies to Ignite at ₹7,499 and Power at ₹29,999.
Use the real total, not the booking amount. PW's MBA Power Batch page shows a booking amount followed by instalments, so the first figure on the page is not the price. Our coaching-fee comparison calculator helps you line fees up side by side.
What do PW's pages say about refunds?
PW's Ignite page, Elite page and MBA Wallah landing page each say that a purchased batch cannot be refunded. The Ignite page reads "Refund after purchase is not allowed." The Elite page answers its own refund question with "No, PW does not offer refunds once a batch is purchased". The PW MBA Wallah landing page says "Refunds are not permitted once a batch has been purchased." All three were read on 31 October 2026.
The Power Batch page, read 31 October 2026, shows no refund wording, so get it in writing. Our guide on how to check a coaching refund policy shows how to get any provider's refund terms in writing.
How do you compare PW with other CAT options?
Run the same ten checks on two other CAT options and fill in one grid. Online Coaching 4u publishes this page. It is a directory for comparing coaching institutes and does not teach courses or collect course payments. This page reviews PW's MBA Wallah and does not rank it against other providers.
| Item | PW batch | Option B | Option C |
|---|---|---|---|
| Batch name and CAT year | |||
| Access end date | |||
| Full-length mocks confirmed | |||
| Mocks inside the price? | |||
| Total payable incl. GST | |||
| Instalment dates | |||
| Refund wording (copied) | |||
| Cost per full-length mock |
If PW's end date or mock count loses on the grid, you have your answer without a verdict on the teaching. Our CAT mock test series guide helps you match mocks to your weakest section.
Browse CAT options in our directory, compare them against your grid, and send an enquiry to the ones that fit. It costs you nothing to browse, compare or enquire with us. Fees, batches, faculty, duration and refund terms are confirmed directly with the provider, and the sheet above is how you do that.
