The short answer
Neither ALLEN nor Resonance can be ranked above the other from what they publish, so choose by branch, batch and the written quote. Resonance deducts ₹20,000 in the first 15 days and ₹80,000 by day 60, while ALLEN prints the last refund date and the deductible amount on the receipt.

Introduction
Resonance's published classroom refund rules deduct ₹20,000 if you leave in the first 15 days of a course and ₹80,000 by day 60, and nothing comes back after that. Resonance counts the days from the day the course starts, not the day you join. ALLEN prints the last refund date and the deductible amount on the receipt, so ask the branch which date applies to your batch.
Most of the argument about Allen vs Resonance is about modules and faculty. That matters, but you cannot judge a batch from a brochure, and the money is recoverable only inside a short window. So the exit terms deserve reading before the teaching claims.
Below are the two rule sets side by side, an exit-cost table for Resonance worked from its own published fees, and a quote sheet to fill in with the branch before you pay. Fees and rules are as published by the institutes in November 2026.
We list branches of both institutes and are not either of them. The exit-cost table is our model.
Key takeaways
- Neither ALLEN nor Resonance can be ranked as better for JEE or NEET-UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, Undergraduate) from anything either publishes. Choose by your branch, your batch and the written quote.
- Resonance's classroom refund ladder is a rupee amount that rises every 15 days. ALLEN prints the last refund date and the deductible amount on the receipt, so ask for that receipt wording before paying.
- Resonance counts days from the date the course commences, not the date you joined, so a late joiner can start inside a higher deduction band.
- Compare the branch you would attend, not the brand.
Allen vs Resonance: which should you choose for JEE or NEET?
Pick the branch, not the brand, and do not pay until the fee, the refund ladder and the batch start date are in writing. We recommend our free coaching directory for shortlisting branches of both brands in your city, because you can compare them there and send an enquiry or callback request without paying us anything. Our guide to checking refund terms in writing shows what to ask for.

Why does the branch matter more than the brand in Allen vs Resonance?
Because the fee table, the batch and the faculty you get belong to one branch. Resonance states that its published fee structure applies to its Kota centre and that other locations may differ. A Kota comparison does not transfer to Agra or Vijayawada.
We built our listings around that fact. These are the reasons to start with us:
- Branch listings for both brands. We list branches such as ALLEN Kota and Resonance Agra, so you compare the place you would sit in.
- Ratings with their source named. ALLEN Kota carries a Google rating of 4.3 from 5,305 reviews as of November 2026, and every rating is labelled with the public site it came from.
- Free for students. You can browse, compare, send enquiries and submit reviews without paying us.
- An enquiry that goes to the branch you picked. You ask that branch for its fee, batches, faculty and refund terms, and you confirm them with the branch directly.
How do ALLEN and Resonance refund rules differ?
Resonance publishes a fixed rupee ladder, while ALLEN's Kota rules point to dates and amounts printed on the receipt. Both require a formal application and reject phone or email requests, so the written route matters more than the amount.
Resonance (classroom programme). The deduction is ₹20,000 for days 0 to 15, ₹40,000 for days 16 to 30, ₹60,000 for days 31 to 45 and ₹80,000 for days 46 to 60. After day 60 there is no refund. The bands meet at day 45, so ask which band day 45 falls in. Days run from course commencement, not from when you joined. The application is a hard copy with original receipts, identity card and a cancelled cheque. Verbal, email, SMS and WhatsApp requests are rejected. The refund includes the ₹3,000 caution deposit. On a two-year course, leaving after day 60 or before Class XII begins deducts the Class XI (the first of the two senior-secondary years) fee, which is ₹1,47,000.
ALLEN Kota (2026-27). The application is online only, with the original fee receipt, ALLEN identity card and attendance card. Refunds go by bank transfer to the father's, mother's or student's account. The last date to apply for the first and last refund, and the amount deductible, appear on the fee receipt and the website. If you take a government medical college seat, a 25% deduction of the final fee after scholarship applies for Pre-Medical students. A missed second instalment adds ₹50 a day for up to 30 days, so ₹1,500 at most. Changing course costs ₹1,500 to ₹10,000 depending on timing, and changing batch costs ₹500.
Our view: neither set of rules is a reason to avoid either brand. Both are a reason to get the numbers on paper before you pay.
What does leaving Resonance cost depending on your joining month?
For November, December or January admission, leaving Resonance's one-year JEE Advanced classroom programme in the first 15 days costs 14.8% to 16.0% of the fee, and leaving by day 60 costs 59.3% to 64.0%.
The calculation below is our model, not an official figure. As of 3 November 2026, Resonance's Kota one-year JEE Advanced fee is ₹1,25,000 for November admission, rising ₹5,000 a month to ₹1,50,000 from April 2027, and it includes GST. We subtracted the deduction from the refund ladder. Share lost is deduction divided by fee. We assumed the ladder applies to that fee, and ignored scholarships, the ₹5,000 lumpsum benefit and the ₹3,000 caution deposit. We used November, December and January, three of the eight months in the fee table.
The days count from course commencement, so a student who joins a running batch can already be inside a higher band, or past day 60, on the day they pay. That is our inference from the rule, and it depends on your batch's start date. Ask for that date in writing.
For ALLEN, fill this in from your own receipt: last date for the first refund ____, last refund date ____, amount deductible at each date ____. If the branch cannot show these before you pay, treat that as a fail.

What do the fees include and how can you pay?
Both fees include study material and GST. ALLEN accepts net banking, cards, UPI, cheque, bank deposit, RTGS or NEFT and EMI (equated monthly instalment); Resonance offers two instalments or ₹5,000 off for one payment.
Resonance's Kota fee table lists "Admission and Study Material" and tuition separately and says GST (Goods and Services Tax) is included. ALLEN's Bhilai 2026-27 JEE page says the total is inclusive of GST at 18% (the present rate) and covers study material, uniform and kit. The wording is from that branch's page, so ask your branch for its own.
- One-year JEE Advanced: ₹1,25,000 for November admission, rising ₹5,000 a month to ₹1,50,000 from April 2027, with ₹5,000 off for paying in one instalment.
- Two-year JEE Advanced programme (VIKAAS): ₹3,00,000.
- One-year JEE Main: ₹55,000 to ₹90,000, and the two-year JEE Main programme (ABHINAV PLUS): ₹1,60,000.
ALLEN accepts net banking, cards and UPI online, cheque, card swipe at admission offices, bank deposit, RTGS or NEFT transfer, and EMI "at no extra cost" through your profile login. A returned cheque carries a ₹500 penalty.
Which questions should you put to a branch before paying?
Ask the seven below and treat any "fail" as a reason to wait. Module quality and teaching are real concerns, but you can test them. Test teaching quality with a demo class and sample material at the branch you would attend. Our guide to checking a coaching refund policy covers the refund checks in more depth.
- Ask the branch
- Which session and city does this fee cover?
- Pass
- Quote names the session and your branch

Our verdict
Shortlist branches of both brands in the Online Coaching 4u directory, free for students, and pay only once the fee, refund ladder and batch start date are in writing.
How we compared
We compared ALLEN and Resonance on refund rules, fees, payment terms and what the fee bundles, using each institute's own website pages as of November 2026. The Resonance exit-cost table is our model, worked from its published fee structure and refund ladder. Teaching quality, modules and results were not compared.
