CAT Coaching in Mumbai: Fees, Centres and a Pre-Pay Check

As of October 2026, CAT 2026 is on 29 November 2026, conducted by IIM Indore, and registration closed in September 2026. For this year only mocks and revision fit. The full courses priced below are for CAT 2027. The official site is iimcat.ac.in.

If you are sitting CAT 2026, the useful products are mock series with solutions and analysis. If you are aiming for CAT 2027, you have time to choose between a mock series, a short course and a full course, and the rest of this page helps you do that.

As of October 2026, CATKing lists mocks at ₹2,999 (listed discount from ₹5,999) and its Intensive course at ₹9,999 (listed discount from ₹19,999). IMS sells a 30-mock series for ₹7,021 to ₹9,971 with GST. Full live courses cost ₹47,141 at IMS and ₹49,999 at Career Launcher. The lowest figures are discounted prices, so confirm the price when you pay.

A CAT 2026 candidate should look at the mock rows: CATKing Mocks and the IMS SimCAT series. Career Launcher's page does not say whether ₹49,999 includes GST, so the gap to IMS's GST-inclusive ₹47,141 could be larger. Do not treat the two full-course totals as comparable until Career Launcher confirms. A full-length mock is a timed simulation of the whole CAT paper. For T.I.M.E., get a written total with GST from the centre you are considering before you compare it with these figures.

What each rupee buys. These are our calculations from the provider pages above, as of October 2026. The full IMS course costs about 6.7 times its mock series (₹47,141 ÷ ₹7,021).

Compare per-session figures only within one provider, because session length can differ.

Buy a mock series if your CAT is under about three months away and you have covered the syllabus. Buy a full course only if you have close to a year. A 125-session course at three sessions a week takes about 42 weeks (125 ÷ 3), and at two a week about 63 weeks. A course bought too late cannot be finished before the exam.

The IMS full course gives you 40 SimCATs and the mock series gives you 30. The extra ₹40,120 (₹47,141 − ₹7,021) pays for live teaching and mentoring. Decide whether you need that, not whether you want "the full package".

Choose the centre you can reach at batch time without missing sessions, then confirm it runs your batch. IMS's Mumbai page lists centres on the Western, Central and Harbour lines. CATKing's centres page lists three Mumbai-region classrooms, open 9 am to 7 pm.

Not every centre runs every programme or batch. Ask which centre your batch is held at before you pay. For T.I.M.E., ask the centre you are considering for the batch, the address and a written total.

If no centre fits your commute, a live online course teaches the same exam without the travel. Live batches are often in the evening, which suits working students.

People pay for the wrong coaching because the fee that reaches them leaves out something that decides its value: GST, a waiver, the course length or the exit terms.

• Base fee against total. IMS's Extensive Live base fee is ₹39,950. GST at 18% adds ₹7,191 (39,950 × 0.18), so the total is ₹47,141.
• Waivers. IMS lists waivers of up to 40%, including 30% for students of selected elite colleges (IMS names a list of 85), for chartered accountants, CFAs (Chartered Financial Analysts), company secretaries, cost and management accountants and doctors, and for 90+ percentile scorers in the past two years' CAT. Our model: ₹39,950 × 0.70 = ₹27,965, plus 18% GST of ₹5,034, gives ₹32,999. That is ₹14,142 below the full price. We assumed the waiver applies before GST, so confirm the order in writing.
• Wrong length for the time left. A year-long course bought months before the exam teaches topics you will not revisit in time.
• A discount that ends. A listed discount, such as CATKing's, can change. Confirm the price at the moment you pay.
• No exit terms. If you pay in full, attend a few classes and cannot continue, the written terms decide whether you get anything back. A verbal assurance does not count.

Run five tests on every quote and pay only when each passes. Each test has a pass and a fail.

Does the quote show one final total in rupees?

Pass: a written figure that includes GST and any waiver. Fail: "starting from", or a base fee with GST left open. IMS shows both the base fee and the total, which is the form to ask for. Ask every provider whether its number includes GST. If the provider offers instalments, pass: the instalment schedule adds up to the single-payment total in writing. Fail: it adds up to more.

What does each mock and each session cost?

Divide the total by the full-length mocks, then by the live sessions. Pass: you can write both numbers and the provider confirms the counts. Fail: the provider cannot state how many full-length mocks you get. Our coaching fee comparison calculator helps you compare quotes side by side.

Does the course finish before your exam?

Divide the sessions by the sessions per week to get the weeks. Pass: it finishes at least four weeks before your CAT, which leaves time for revision (our recommendation). Fail: it ends after the exam, or only just before it.

Is the refund window written down?

Pass: the document names a cut-off in classes or days, and says whether it covers the format you are buying, classroom or online. Fail: "as per policy", or a verbal promise. Our guide to paying only after you have refund terms in writing explains what to request.

Can you reach the centre at batch time?

Pass: you made the trip once at the batch's start hour, and it fits your limit (we suggest 60 minutes each way). Fail: you assumed it would be fine.
