Bank Coaching in Bangalore: ₹10,000 to ₹21,000 and a Pre-Pay Check

Bank coaching in Bangalore ranges from ₹10,000 to ₹21,000 on the bank-exam course pages of three providers. Compare total cost, access period, mock tests and refund terms before paying.

Updated 10 Oct 2026

Young students sit at desks in a coaching classroom, working through timed practice papers while a teacher looks on.

Key takeaways

  • Bank-exam courses on three providers' own pages cost ₹10,000 to ₹21,000 (as of 10 October 2026). Compare the price you pay, not the struck-through list price.
  • Travel and stay add to the classroom cost. In our model, 100 trips at ₹100 widen the ₹10,300 gap between Veranda RACE's online and classroom courses to ₹20,300.
  • Registration for the 2026 PO cycle closed on 26 July 2026. Plan for the next cycle, and count months back from the preliminary exam you will actually sit.
  • The IBPS PO preliminary has 100 questions in 60 minutes, in three separately timed sections. Ask for full-length mocks in that format, not a headline count of "tests".
  • Get the all-in fee and the refund deadline in writing before you pay.
  • Check that your access period lasts until your next attempt. A cheaper course that expires early costs more.

A coaching fee is one line in the cost of preparing for a bank job. The exam calendar decides how long you can use what you buy. The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) runs common recruitment for public sector banks. Its updated notice of 27 August 2026 lists an indicative 7,565 Probationary Officer (PO, the entry-level officer post) vacancies for 2027-28. Ten of the eleven participating banks had reported, according to the IBPS PO/MT-XVI page.

As of 10 October 2026, registration for that cycle closed on 26 July 2026, so anyone starting now is preparing for the next one. That turns the choice into a planning problem: which exam you count months back from, what the course really costs, and whether your access lasts until your attempt.

This page gives the fees that three providers with Bengaluru branches publish, a total-cost formula, and six checks to run before paying. It then lists the five bank coaching institutes on our Bengaluru directory page.

What does bank coaching in Bangalore cost?

As of 10 October 2026, the bank-exam courses on the providers' own pages run from ₹10,000 to ₹21,000. We take that range from Veranda RACE, Bharat IAS & KAS and Mahendra's, and it leaves out SSC combos. SSC means Staff Selection Commission, whose exams some students prepare for alongside banking.

Provider and coursePriceAccess and tests
Veranda RACE, Bank online₹10,700 (list ₹14,000)3 years, 30+ mock tests, 1000+ hours of online classes
Veranda RACE, Bank offline₹21,000 (list ₹25,000)3 years, 50+ mock tests

Mahendra's, Bank Exams (IBPS PO, SBI PO, Clerk, RRB)₹10,000 to ₹15,0004 to 6 months, "upto selection"

Sources: Veranda RACE's Karnataka course page, the Bharat IAS & KAS course fee page and Mahendra's fee structure page. Mahendra's page covers the chain as a whole, so ask the Jayanagar branch for its own figure.

The struck-through figure is the list price Veranda RACE shows before its discount (as of October 2026). Compare the price shown, and check it again when you enquire, because discounts change.

We could not find a published bank-course fee for Prasad's Academy or Competitive Success as of 10 October 2026, so ask each for a written quote for the exact course and batch.

How do you work out the total cost of bank exam coaching?

Total cost is the fee, plus books and Goods and Services Tax (GST) if the quote leaves them out, plus travel and stay, plus the exam application fee, minus anything refundable. Our formula: total = fee + books + GST + (round-trip travel × sessions) + stay + application fee − refundable amount. Use the GST on your invoice, not an assumed rate.

A student's desk with books, a receipt, a bus ticket and a calculator laid out beside a notebook and pen.
Fees are only one line in the sum, with books, travel and the rest adding to what you actually pay.

The exam fee is separate. In the 2026 cycle IBPS charged ₹850 inclusive of GST for most PO applicants. It charged ₹175 for Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and benchmark-disability candidates. Both figures are in the detailed notification on the IBPS PO/MT-XVI page.

Here is a worked example. It is our model with assumed inputs, not an official figure:

  • Classroom at Veranda RACE costs ₹21,000. The offline listing includes 4 bank books, so we count books as included.
  • Assume about 5 sessions a week for 20 weeks, which is 100 sessions, and ₹50 each way by bus, which is ₹100 a round trip. Travel is 100 × ₹100 = ₹10,000.
  • Classroom total: ₹21,000 + ₹10,000 = ₹31,000, before any GST not already in the price, and before stay.
  • Online total: ₹10,700, plus your own device and data.
  • The gap widens from ₹10,300 (21,000 − 10,700) to ₹20,300 (31,000 − 10,700).

Replace the 100 sessions and ₹100 with your own batch schedule, which the institute can give you, and your own fare. Our reading: commute cost widens the classroom premium, so classroom is worth it only if you study markedly better in a fixed room with a faculty member you have seen in a demo. For the wider trade-off, see our comparison of online versus offline coaching by your constraint.

Which IBPS exam should you count your months back from?

Count back from the preliminary exam (the first screening stage) of the one exam you will sit. IBPS runs separate recruitments, and each has its own dates. A notification is the official announcement of an exam's dates, eligibility and vacancies, so read the one for your exam.

The IBPS tentative calendar for 2026-27, dated 16 January 2026 and listed on the IBPS CRP updates page, shows:

RecruitmentPreliminaryMain
PO/Management Trainee (PO/MT)22 and 23 August 20264 October 2026
Specialist Officer (SO)29 August 20261 November 2026
Clerk (Customer Service Associate)10 and 11 October 202627 December 2026
Regional Rural Banks (RRB) Officer Scale I21 and 22 November 202620 December 2026
RRB Office Assistants6, 12 and 13 December 202630 January 2027

These dates are tentative, as of October 2026, and IBPS can change them. For the public sector bank exams (PO, SO, Clerk), the preliminaries have passed or fall this month. The next cycle's dates are not in the 2026-27 calendar.

In 2026 the PO registration opened on 1 July and closed on 26 July, according to the IBPS registration page. Our inference is that the next PO cycle follows a similar mid-year pattern. That would put its preliminary around August 2027, roughly ten months away. Confirm against IBPS's next calendar.

The 2026 PO notification set eligibility at a degree in any discipline and an age of 20 to 30 on 1 July 2026, with relaxations for some categories. Our recommendation, by months left before your target preliminary:

Months leftWhat we would do
Under 3Do not start a course that begins at basics. Take timed mocks and revise.
3 to 8Join a structured course with timed sectional tests and a fixed schedule. Choose classroom if travel is short, online if not.
8 or moreSelf-study can work if you already clear the cutoff (the minimum score needed to qualify) in timed mocks. Join a course if Quantitative Aptitude (arithmetic and data interpretation) or Reasoning speed is your weak point.

These bands are our judgement, not a rule. If online suits you, our guide to choosing banking coaching online by your exam shows how to match a course to the exam you will sit.

Why can't you compare mock-test counts and access periods between institutes?

Course pages count different things under the word "tests". A mock test is a timed practice paper in exam format. A topic test is a short drill. Veranda RACE lists 50+ mock tests offline and 30+ online. Prasad's lists "800+ online exams" and "Daily Topic-wise Tests: 35 (for 15 Mins)" on its Bangalore bank PO page, with 200 hours of classroom coaching. Its online banking page lists 500+ mock tests, 250+ live classes and 24×7 doubt clearance.

The yardstick is the real paper. The IBPS PO preliminary has 100 questions in 60 minutes, as set out in the detailed notification on the IBPS PO/MT-XVI page. It has English Language (30 questions), Quantitative Aptitude (35) and Reasoning Ability (35). Each is timed separately for 20 minutes, and you must clear a cutoff in each. Eight hundred 15-minute drills do not prepare you for that the way fifty full papers do.

Access periods differ too. Veranda RACE gives three years, while Prasad's states unlimited validity. Because IBPS runs a new cycle each year, longer access matters if you may attempt twice. A cheaper course that expires before your second attempt costs more.

What should you check before you pay for bank coaching?

Run these six checks before paying. Each one has a pass and a fail. Our guide on how to choose a coaching institute covers the wider picture.

Two prospective students review a printed course sheet at an institute's front desk while a staff member waits across from them.
Reading the terms before you hand over any money lets you catch problems that are hard to fix later.
  1. 1
Does the demo class teach you the method?
Pass: after a demo class in the batch and with the faculty member you would join, you solve 5 of 5 similar questions within the time the faculty member allows. Fail: you cannot, the demo is a recording of someone else, or no demo is offered.
  2. 2
Do the mocks match the real paper?
Pass: you get the number of full-length mocks in writing, in the preliminary format of 100 questions in 60 minutes with three separately timed sections, plus a sample solution and score report. Fail: one combined "tests" figure that mixes drills and mocks.
  3. 3
Is the full fee written down as one figure?
Pass: a single written figure covers fee, books, GST and instalments, and matches on a second call. Fail: the figure changes between calls or cannot be put in writing.
  4. 4
Is the refund deadline written down before you pay?

Pass: the document states what is refundable and until which date. Fail: the terms are verbal or arrive after payment. Our guide to checking a coaching refund policy lists what to ask for.

  5. 5
Does access last until your next attempt?
Pass: the access end date falls after the preliminary of the next cycle you could attempt. Fail: access ends before it.
  6. 6
    Can you verify a result?
Pass: a claimed selection names the exam and year, and you can confirm it with the candidate. Fail: a bare total of "selections" with no exam or year.

Which bank coaching institutes in Bengaluru can you compare on Online Coaching 4u?

Our Bengaluru banking listings show five institutes as of 10 October 2026. Online Coaching 4u publishes this page and lists these institutes in its directory. Promoted placement, where an institute buys it, is labelled as promoted.

Fees come from each institute's own pages above. Ratings and review counts come from our listings. The five listings carry 44 reviews between them (13 + 11 + 9 + 6 + 5), and each has fewer than 15, so treat ratings as a starting point. RACE now trades under the Veranda RACE brand and has several Bengaluru branches, so confirm which branch's batch you are paying for.

Profile details come from public sources, and none of the five carries our Verified badge as of 10 October 2026. The badge means an institute shared its details and we verified them. It is not a guarantee of results.

We help before you enquire. You can filter by exam, city, study mode and verification status, then send an enquiry or callback request to the institute you choose. Browsing, comparing and enquiring cost you nothing. You then confirm fees, batches, faculty and refund terms directly with the institute, using the six checks above.

Frequently asked questions

No single institute is best for everyone. The better choice depends on your exam, months left, budget and commute. Shortlist two or three, attend each demo class, and pick the one that passes all six checks above.
Coaching is not required, and many candidates prepare alone. Add coaching when your Quantitative Aptitude or Reasoning speed is weak, you have never sat a full timed mock, or you have 3 to 8 months left and need a fixed schedule.
Compare them on the same six checks rather than by name. Veranda RACE publishes prices and gives three years of access. Prasad's states unlimited validity and offers small-batch live classes online. Take a demo at each and compare written fee and refund terms.
Durations vary by institute: Mahendra's lists 4 to 6 months, Prasad's lists 6 months or one year, and Veranda RACE gives three years of access. Pick a length that finishes before your preliminary exam with time left to revise.
Courses cover the papers in the exam you target. The IBPS PO preliminary tests English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability. Its main exam adds General, Economy and Banking Awareness, and Data Analysis and Interpretation, plus a descriptive paper. Check your exam's notification for the exact pattern.
